Particulars: Bound in well sewn red wool padded with felt. The pile has slight contouring and is in excellent condition. The elaborate,European-influenced floral border is similar to a design known to have been in use in Shigatse and Gyantse around 1930.
The family to whom this piece originally belonged came from the area of Tibet between Shigatse and Gyantse.
